General Notes: Harry E. Sterling signed up for the draft in both WWI and WII. The following information was taken from copies of his draft cards

June 5, 1917. Shows him as a self employed machinest, single living with his widowed mother who is also listed as his dependent. His physical description is listed as Tall, Medium Build, Blue eyes and Light Hair with no distinguishing marks. His place of residence is listed as Masontown, PA. The draft card also states that he is native born

April 1942. Shows him as a self employed owner of a store and gas station. His wife Rena is listed as his contact and his address is shown as Johnstown, PA. There is no physical description available at this time.

Harry married Rena Shatto [1930] [MRIN: 542], daughter of Charles Shatto [1934] and Ida M. Miller [1933], in 1925 in Pennsylvania. Rena was born on 18 Jul 1898 in Cambria County, Johnstown, PA, died on 4 Mar 1952 in Cambria County, Johnstown, PA ² at age 53, and was buried on 6 Mar 1952 in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Johnstown, PA.
