Donald Bruce Winstanley was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania in January of 1955.  He is the oldest son of Donald Dean and Nancy Sterling Winstanley, also originially of Johnstown.  Bruce spent the majority of his childhood moving back and forth between Texas and Florida as his father worked for NASA.  He discovered track in junior high and excelled in that sport, setting many records both at Clear Creek in League City, Texas and at Bowie Senior High in Bowie, Maryland for both track and his first love, Cross County.  He's been in the automotive field for the last 30 years and has called Winchester Virginia home for some time. 

Bruce has an older sister, Joan, who lives in Texas, and three younger brothers, Brian who passed away in 1975, Tom who lives in Winchester and Gary who lives in Berryville.  He has one son, David, who also lives nearby in Winchester and of whom he is very proud.
