On July 22nd, the Winstanleys packed up and headed up to Pennsylvania for the weekend. We wanted to spend some time up where Bruce had been born and most importantly, stop and see Horseshoe Curve. Jeremiah Winstanley, Bruce's grandfather worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad as an electrician and he was part of the crew that electrified the curve. In fact, when the Curve was first lit up, there were only 3 lights that did not come on, a massive accomplishment considering the amount of line and wire it took for this monumental undertaking. We wanted to see the Curve for ourselves and to take our son and stand where Bruce's grandfather had worked so hard. it was a great trip, we all love trains. Robb enjoyed himself so much that for his next trip out, he wants to take an actual train ride. Sunday was a full day of excitement. From riding the Inclined Plane, visiting Fort Ligonier to paying our respects at the Flight 93 Memorial, it was a fantastic trip.
